Information about A Bit and a Bite
Welcome! My name is Heidi, and I do—well—a bit of everything:
- Write? Check.
- Film and edit? Check. (Win national awards? Also check.)
- Take photos? Check.
- Code? Check.
- Cook? Check (but just for friends and family).
I've also organized 400-person meetings, worked with vendors, run social media accounts, coordinated expo booths and marketing campaigns, climbed trees, gone boating with alligators, said “Hi” to venomous snakes (I'm not just checking to see if you're paying attention), seen a bird's-eye view of eagles, and so much more.
Why “A Bit and a Bite”? In 2013, I told myself I'd make a website when I figured out a catchy title, and if you have a good book and a good snack, what more do you need?
This site has evolved over the years. At first, I thought I'd create a classic food blog, but I found myself bored of the personal stories and photos ahead of the recipe. Then, I thought I'd hybridize short fiction with recipes, but that was difficult to pull off without seeming completely corny (in a bad way). At the moment, I've landed on straightforward recipes from my personal collection, curated lists from my 18,000+ bookmarks, and articles about the topics I've taught myself over the years.
Please, make yourself at home. You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like.
I'll put a contact form here when I'm ready to take on freelance work.
